Description

Sterling silver, gold-plated(?) chalice of Fr. George Greenwell, donated by his nephew Fr. Nick Rice. Presented with a Roman Missal, copyright 1970. Six scenes of Christ's life depicted on base. Maker's mark "Gorham [three symbols] Sterling 2352" on underside of base rim. Also has "A Token of Love to God from Frank Sr., Catherine and Frank Jr. Housman" engraved on underside of base rim. "268-79" scratched on inside of base rim, in curve to right of Gorham mark. Fr. Greenwell was a chaplain at the Loretto Motherhouse. #1318.1a-b contained in leather-covered case with purple velvet interior, 10.5" x 7.5" x 8".
