Description
Basket woven of natural-color, purple, green, and magenta reeds, dyed with natural dyes. This multi-use basket was made by the women of SOIL (Social Organization for Integral Life), where women were taught traditional skills to make items to help support themselves and their families. Samina Iqbal and Maria Daniel, who later became Sisters of Loretto, started this organization in 2000 to help the very poor in the region.
