Description
(a) The Maggie Judge chalice, gold with inlaid jewels and pearl. It was given by Miss Maggie Judge, a pupil of Cedar Grove, as a Centennial offering. It was made from the family jewels, with the gold up to the cup made from the gold settings; the natural pearl was Maggie’s father’s. The donor went to New York and supervised the making of the chalice. Engraved at the bottom of the base: "Gift of Maggie Judge in Commemoration of Centenary of Sisters of Loretto at the Foot of the Cross 1812-1912." "Xeax 14k" stamped on bottom of base.
(b) Paten, no apparent decoration or markings. Included with the chalice in the catalog binder photograph and found together in storage.
