Plastic doll, dressed in 19th-century Loretto habit with hearts on the cape (one heart is missing), with rosary with metal crucifix, in plastic 8” display case. This veil was worn until 1909. The veil was then changed because it was considered too somber and tended to frighten children rather than attract them, and two doctors objected to so much black as being depressing to the wearer.
