Description

Latin altar card, used for festive occasions, early 20th century. Wooden frame covered with red velvet with leaf-shaped decorative silver/pewter corner embellishments. Set in tri-panel form: center has a small Last Supper; the left-hand panel has at its top a symbol for the Lamb of God; the right-hand panel holds symbols of the cross, the host, and cup of wine symbolizing the Eucharist, and the Lectionary for the scripture readings. Left panel has the Gloria and Credo. Center panel contains the words of Consecration. Right panel has prayers for offerings of bread and wine. Text at bottom indicates it was printed by Benziger & Co., or Benziger Brothers.
