Description
Pair of black-stained wooden shoes (a-b). There also is a metal cleat on a leather strap that could be attached to the shoe with the word “ice” on it (c). They belonged to Reverend David De Parcq, a native of Belgium, who came to America with Bishop DuBourg of St. Louis, MO. He was ordained December 23, 1820, by Bishop David. Reverend DeParcq was Ecclesiastical Superior of Sisters of Loretto, 1846-1864, and spent many years at Calvary, KY, working with the Sisters of Loretto. He is buried at the Loretto Motherhouse cemetery.
