Description

Quilt with tag sewn on backing, "Loretto Memories / made in 2003 by Sister Mary Jane Sweeney." White fabric with blue-green floral trim. 15 blocks have red buildings with black polka-dotted roofs, each with a place name and a strip of brightly colored floral fabric underneath. According to an accompanying note, these places are schools where Loretto Sisters taught in St. Louis, MO (see accession file). The names are St. Ann, St. Pius, St. Phil's, Nerinx, St. Agnes, St. Cronin, Loretto, St. Ferdinand, St. Patrick, Toolen, Visitation, Havern, St. Catherine, St. Michael, St. Rose. [A few of these schools are in Colorado, Texas, or Alabama.] Has a sleeve attached to back to hang.
