Description

Calligraphy written on paper printed with "USCCB / U.S. Catholic China Bureau / Remember Our Sister-Church in China" in the top left corner and "Love" at the bottom center. Calligraphic writing surrounds the strokes for several Chinese symbols, which are painted or drawn in green, yellow, red, and blue. Symbols identified as "Bamboo / Roof / Heart / Woman = Love."

The words read: "Beloved, let us love one another because / love is from God. For / God so loved the world / that he gave His only begotten / son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. No greater love have men than this, that a man dies / dies for His friend. But God / demonstrates His love toward us in that while we were yet / sinners, Christ died for us. / God is love. / See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called children of God. We love because God first loved us. But now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." A combination of John 4:7, John 3:16, John 15:13, Romans 5:8, John 4:8, John 3:1, John 4:19, and 1 Corinthians 13:13.
