Description
Brass sconce, one of the original sconces from the Abbey of Gethsemani, KY. This was also a gift from Father Louis (Thomas Merton) when the chapel at Gethsemani was being renovated. Father Louis gave several talks and classes to the Loretto Novices. Sr. Helen Jean Seidel often had the privilege of serving Fr. Louis and found him, “so human and so interesting.” Sent to the Museum December 11, 1966.
