Leather-bound book, gold-edged pages, “Novum Testamentum” and “Imitatione Christe," printed in Paris, Gaume Brothers, 1844. On inside cover, in lead pencil, in Fr. Wuyts’ handwriting (according to later note): “Francis Wuyts, Loretto Academy, Marion County, Kentucky.”

Fr. Wuyts, a native of Holland, was first sent to Holy Mary’s as an assistant to Rev. A.A. Aud. In 1854, he was transferred to Loretto, where, in addition to his chaplaincy over the Institution, he was pastor of Holy Cross and St. Vincent Churches. Fr.
