Description

Pair of matching framed reliquaries, red background with quilled decorations of gold leaf and white beads. Quilling is an art form of rolling or curling paper or yarn into shapes for decoration, often arranged to form floral shapes. A) has printed text "Joanns Nepo"(?) and "Sancti [?]orne." Originally written on back: “This reliquary was brought from Europe by Fr. Nerinckx. It was sent with a colony of Sisters to Toronto, Ohio (1899) and brought back to Loretto (a) December 1931 and (b) 1934.”
