Brown plastic fountain pen, engraved “Sister Mary Assumpta, Loretto Academy, Nerinx, Kentucky." Made by the Diamond Medal Pen Company of Chicago, IL, with a gold hook on top that could be placed on a chain or a ribbon and worn around the neck. Mother Assumpta McIntosh was a member of the Sisters of Loretto from 1899 to 1953. She was born in Goderich Ontario, Canada. She took vocal and instrumental music and taught it in schools and to the novices at Loretto Motherhouse. She was also Mistress of Postulants, Superior of various communities, and 3rd Assistant General of the Congregation of the Sisters of Loretto 1928-1934 during Mother Olivette Norton’s time.
