Description
Copper relief artwork depicting the Last Supper, with Christ standing and surrounded by 11 Disciples. Engraved in lower right corner: "Made in Spain by Pasadera / Mercader-Miret Reproduccion." Mounted on wood with 8 square-headed nails. The original was made by Catalan artist Jaume Mercader-Miret (1914-2009). According to the donor, this piece was purchased by Mother Mary Luke Tobin, SL, in New York for the Sisters of Loretto to have as religious artwork in their convent in Tacna, Peru. Sr. Elisa Rodriguez, SL, brought it back with her when the convent closed and she returned to the United States in March 1973.
