Description

Set of four metal chimes/tubular bells, suspended in a standing wood frame on wheels, with a wood mallet. The tubes are "Crown Symphony Tubes" made by Herschede Hall Clock Co., Cincinnati, OH (founded 1877; incorporated 1902). These were used in the Motherhouse Novitiate. Distinctive patterns of ringing the chimes announced different times of day.
