Description

Watercolor(?) painting of a Southwestern landscape, yellow and purple flowers along road in foreground, and trees, adobe buildings, and two mountain ranges in background under a blue sky. Signed in lower right corner by Agnes Tait (1894-1981).

Sr. Lydia Pena, SL, was the guest curator for an exhibit of Tait's work at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities and the Roswell Museum and Art Center in 1984. She wrote "The Life and Times of Agnes Tait" as a companion book for this exhibit.

Donated to the Heritage Center from the estate of George and Alice Gunter in honor of Sr. Lydia Pena. According to Lydia's foreword in her book about Tait, Alice Gunter "gave me invaluable assistance and moral support in the initial stages of organizing this exhibition."
