Label on back of frame: "Presented to Mary Pius Fagan [OP] by the Loretto Women's Network / June, 2005." Caption attached to the back of frame: "This Mary Rhodes Award was made by a participant in SOIL (Social Organization for Integral Life), and NGO in Pakistan which focuses on the rights of women and children. The seamstress who made this award had never sewn before coming to SOIL. She and other women clean the houses of the rich in the morning and in the evening they come to SOIL to learn the skill of sewing, an important step toward economic independence for them and their families."
