Tiny bamboo pill box, decorated with line drawing of Oriental man and animal with horns and delicate designs all around the sided and top. A small snail shell is inside.
These items were from Sr. Dorothy Jane Van Hoogstrate, SL (1924-1995). Sister DJ, as she was affectionately called, was a professor of History and International Relations and taught at both Webster (College) University and Loretto Heights. These mementoes from her travels to Asia and Africa were given to the staff offices and later passed on to the Heritage Center in 2009.
