Description
Carved wood panel from La Paz, Bolivia. The surface is carved and painted with the image of an Indigenous man wearing a hat and playing the flute, next to a llama, with a little church with a bell tower in the close background and hills, snow-capped mountains, and clouds in the far background. Artist's signature carved in lower right corner.
Paper taped to back indicates this was a gift to “The Mother Superior, with all our love, Sr. Lucy de Hurtado, Sr. Neri Sanchez de Vilela, Sr. Thersa de Romero, Sr. Jenny de Noya, Sr. Delia de Cardona. Sr. Soledad de Albariacin, Maruia P de Azuila, Sr. Gloria de Caceres," in January 1967. Address label for Sr. Carol Dunphy, SL, on back. See also #0991-0993.
