Afghan or throw, navy blue and white, fringe around all edges. Children holding hands all the way around in solid blue, St. Mary’s written in banner at top, picture of St. Mary’s Grade School 1913-1983, picture of Community High School and St. Mary’s Grade School 1922-1977. In middle of afghan is a banner with St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a picture of the church. Below is a ribbon banner with Sterling, Illinois est. 1898. On the bottom is Community Catholic Middle School, St. Mary’s Grade School, built 1997 with picture across from school of Newman Center, built 1952. This was a gift from Sr. Rosemary Keegan, SL, who was a Sterling native.
